April 23, 2016 - This is a huge, backward syrah, totally opaque, purple-black. Infanticide to drink this now. This has been open 3 days and is only now starting to show its stuff. More than a hint of the Northern Rhone in this one, with a bit of soy sauce to boot (that is a good thing in this wine). Very tannic and a bit oaky on the palate, it nevertheless offers up a good dollop of blackberry and earth. I wish I would have waited on this, because it could be very special if the fruit outlives the boatload of tannins in this. For now: 5-13-15-8: 91/100.
