February 28, 2018 - Dark opaque almost black. Fruit and tea leaves on the nose. Concentrated! Rich Dark fruit, some noticeable heat (14.7%), Cola, some acid, and a pretty long finish with lots of tannins. Tastes very fresh for 8 years old. Not sure if more time would help this.
Its a pinot that drinks like a syrah and not to my taste in Pinot. The heat and the sweetness detract IMO. This would have been more to my liking 3 years ago. Now I want Pinot to be lighter. Ignoring its pinot its the noticeable heat and sweetness that keep this from being excellent. Meh for ~$20 Wife immediately said raisiny and prunes upon tasting.
Tastes more like Russia River Valley than Santa Rita hills. I know lots of friends who would enjoy this wine and its ripe style2 people found this helpful Comment -

March 24, 2017 - Needed an hour to open up. Dark color, good clarity,dark red fruit profile. A little heavy on the palate, but nice mouthfeel and medium length on the finish. Drink now with a short decant, or hold.
