Community Tasting Notes 11

December 29, 2023 - Sweet cherry, well pronounced and pure. Not much spiciness that I can sense, but quite a bit of tannin still, that provides structure.

September 21, 2022 - Ruby with a brick, almost orangey rim. Some sediment, so decanting is recommended at this point. Smelled sweet red cherry, leather, light earth, oak, and baking spices, with the taste focused on the fruit and spice plus a little raisin (which I always get with appassimento wines). Big (15.5%) with still-strong drying tannin almost balanced by the high acidity, perhaps a tad of residual sugar left, finishing nice and long.

February 16, 2022 - Medium light bright red. Lovely nose of roses, pure red fruit and green herbs. Dry red cherry and cola flavours. The finish is mid weight and floral.

Very fresh and red fruit driven. Hard to believe this is made from dried grapes.

February 7, 2022 - Medium red color. Big sweet nose--makes one think new world, and 15.5% alcohol adds to that impression. Extremely likable, even if not immediately recognizable as nebbiolo. A bit of raisin creeps in owing to the apassimiento style. Fun to experience.

August 1, 2020 - Unique - light color in the glass like a barolo, but with the intensity of aromas and flavors of an amarone. Personally I prefer amarone over this, but this was interesting to try.
