February 12, 2018 - This has heavy tannins T8.5. I don't know what gives it the tannins as it does not taste like a merlot/cabernet. Reminded me of tannat.
But it is balanced as the finish lasts and does not bite you. Just don't expect fruit from merlot or cab. -

February 12, 2018 - Medium to deep garnet red. Bit meaty to start on the nose but then came through some acetone with some light stewed fruit and steel. A bit unbalanced with a steely pinch. Medium tannins (7/10) and medium bodied. Very dry with dark cocoa, black cherries, minerality and tight baking spices. Medium length finish. Honestly might do better on day two to smooth it out. Definitely gave us a headache.

January 11, 2018 - I'm not sure what happened with the other reviewers, but this is... not bad! It's interesting: 2009, so should be mature, and it's throwing sediment (watch out for that) but the tannins are still palpable as if it still has a ways to go. If you told me this was a Bordeaux Superieur, I'd believe you. Strangely, no bouquet to speak of (at least, not an hour after opening), but it has a pleasant old-world quality on the palate with just a teensy bit of something foreign that I like to think is the local varieties
