April 18, 2024 - moderate depth of color, purple red rim. on the nose cassis, baking spices, minerals... on the palate surprisingly soft with moderate acids, moderate midpalate weight, a moderate amount of largely integrated and soft tannins, moderate alcohol. balanced wine with good length, great intensity, ok complexity. wine has finesse, a soft texture, excellent expression of place. 15's are very soft wines to me... though they are classic in their aromas. this is in the early part of its drinking plateau and won't be particularly long lived.

March 8, 2024 - What a treat! Struck the palate as pleasantly austere and acidic, with Cassis and eucalyptus on a tobacco and leather substructure. Not the longest finish around, but the astounding thing is the sort of minerally underpinnings, as if someone had ground up stones and sprinkled them in the bottle. It’s as if the winemaker said “let’s see if we can make an interesting wine with absolutely no fruit.” And they did.
