February 6, 2022 - Purple, full body, blackberry, chocolate, smoky meat, resolved tannins, mild acid, moderate finish

January 29, 2022 - Did not disappoint. Looks young and vibrant, and the nose was fresh, with dark fruits, baking spices, and no mustiness or funkiness. Black and blue fruit on the palate, with a good dose of cinnamon. Fairly viscous and rich, with a solid finish. Tannins still present, but they've receded a little too much for my liking. Still youthfull and tasty, but the faded tannins indicate that it's time to drink up.

December 25, 2020 - After the last bottle was corked, I was a little bit hesitant to approach this bottle. Well, this one was fun-KEE upon opening. Lots of nitrogen, mushroom, dirt, soil, you name it. Tasted like you just ate some dirt in a mud run. I put this one in timeout and went to a budget white for a little bit, then came back to this one. Wowza, definitely a different wine! Nose and palate dark black and blue fruit, cocoa, dark chocolate, pencil shavings. Dense. Full bodied. Finished with very softened tannin compared to the first of these enjoyed about 8 years ago or so But still had a nice heft of black pepper, baking spice, and dark fruit cake. Really delicious. The last of the 12 enjoyed tonight on Christmas in this crazy 2020 turned out to be awesome. Drink now with about a 20-minute decant

December 1, 2020 - Cork fell into a million pieces. What was left came out with an ah-so but wine had TCA taint. Corked!

March 12, 2019 - The only reason why any of these have survived is because they were all sitting in a remote cellar, and NOT Classic!! Two more to go. This wine is ALMOST at the top of the hill but I still think it needs another 2 years or so. This wine is massive. Sweet youthful fruit nose and cinnamon. Still rather youthful blackberry and blueberries on the palate. Streusel. Cinnamon and black fruitcake. Pepper finish. Toasted tannin and quite a bit of it. No way I would have guessed this was 10 years old. Moon Mountain fruit...how incredible! Another 10 years to go...at least.
