February 13, 2024 - Pretty impressive Sonoma cab. Very warming dark cassis and plums, cedar, graphite and tobacco on the nose. Structured but smooth on the palate showing a good mix of sappy crushed black fruits, a savory note of cigar wrapper, dark olive paste, medium acidity and present but fine tannins on the long finish.

September 15, 2023 - Enjoyed immensely with nice cabernet character and dimensions. Dark color and aromatic nose. Drank young so no rush but I think its drinking at its peak. I have enjoyed the same vintage in the past. I think this bottle was a bit better than the others.

July 30, 2023 - Yeah... It is THAT good! Before writing this TN I went back and reviewed my TNs from the past five (or so) years. There are very few wines that I scored at 94 or more. This one absolutely deserves the 94 and maybe more. We enjoyed this with dinner at The Lark in Santa Barbara. (https://www.thelarksb.com) I dropped the wine off an hour early to be decanted. The nose was super inviting with dark cherries and black plums. The wine was silky smooth on the tongue and finished long with mocha notes and great finesse. Just fabulous! I find that this wine, and many of the Sonoma cabernets, offer a more refined sense of fruit than their Napa counterparts. The descriptor for me was "elegant." I realize full well that we all have our own distinct preferences in wine, but for me, this cabernet from Rafanelli is outstanding. It is drinking really well right now and would seem to have at least five more years (probably ten) ahead of it. So good!

June 6, 2023 - Really nice cab - dark purple, slow legs, tannins very well integrated and just the right amount of oak. Two more bottles set aside - I wouldn’t be surprised to see my rating go up a couple more points down the road.
