December 13, 2022 - Barnyard and band-aid was overwhelming, and I poured the rest down the drain. I was ready to write this off, but the bottles had gotten tossed around, so I decided to let the others settle for a week. This time around, plenty of black fruit, licorice, and menthol with good balance and concentration. Still leather and game notes but much more in the background. Has a few years of drinking left in the tank. Good value.

November 2, 2022 - ABV: 14.0%. Expressive nose of plums, pomegranate, raspberries, and roasted herbs. Very juicy on the palate with supple tannins and good acidity to lift the fruits. Solid, lengthy finish with a hint of umami at the end. The tannins could probably use a few more years to soften up, but this wine is drinking pretty well now. If you're planning to open a bottle soon, just give it a quick 45-minute decant. I imagine that this wine will pair great with grilled meats.

June 5, 2022 - Great with a burger off the grill. Tannin resolved but will probably go on for a few more years. Great QPR

January 2, 2022 - good. Nice dark fruit. Better with food

December 23, 2021 - Opaque dark purple. Aromas of black fruit, wood, and spice. The wine is full bodied and dry. Flavors of black plum, blackberry, pepper, herbs, earth, and oak. Acid medium, tannins medium, alcohol medium+
