Community Tasting Notes 4

December 15, 2023 - The weakest of the ribbon ridge vertical so far. Muted nose. Big and plush Pinot. Not what I'm looking for from Oregon.

October 17, 2021 - Retail $69. Under screw cap. Big Ass Bottle. I first tasted this nearly two years ago for the "Blind Tasting of 100 American Pinot Noirs." Back then? It is safe to say that I was not a *huge* fan: "Dirty and flinty nose. Plenty of fruit with a bit of effervescence on the palate. A serviceable Pinot. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points." Now? Holy cow. What a difference. Dark, at least for a Pinot, with rich Bing and black cherry, some clove, red licorice, and another sweet aspect (strawberry jam?). The palate is delightful, even wonderful, even fantasmagorical, with all that fruit, a zingy acidity, and a finish that begs, no, demands "more." Yowza. Could I have been *that* wrong about a wine? Or could it have changed *this* much?

July 30, 2021 - Very much in the house style, this is young and slow to evolve. Dominated by fruit and acidity, still dark in color, has a lng life ahead. Will wait a few years before opening my next bottle. Big upside.
