November 15, 2021 - Apparently first bottle from a case bought at the domaine. Sweet Grenache fruit, white pepper notes, good structure, doesn’t hurt anyone. Lacks character, which to me is a trademark for Janasse. With Niels at La Contadine. Waiting for a Cote de Bœuf.
November 15, 2021 - A wee bit overdone maybe, the style of the domaine - I forgive them, any way, a sound core of kirsch here, Grenache speaks. Fine balance, cool touch from the vintage - mature but no hurry. Better on day 2

August 3, 2019 - Our main course wine with Kentucky Bourbon chicken skewers, Rosemary potatoes in smoked olive oil with snap peas & green beans straight out of garden.
The nose reveals, ripe; blackberries, dark cherries, blue fruit heaven, slightly stewed plums, creamy, black raspberries, strawberries on the high nose and glass edges. Sweet tarriness, anise to black licorice, dry stones, crushed, dry rocks, medium, dark spice, savory, grilled meats, underbrush, limestone & sandstone minerals, steeped tea with beautiful florals of dark red, blue and violets.
The body is round, lush and medium full. The tannins are rounded & well resolved with baby teeth. The structure, tension, length and balance are somewhere around the top of the bell curve with another five years of life ahead. It’s gorgeous as it slides over the palate. Ripe; blackberries, dark cherries, blue fruit heaven, slightly stewed plums, creamy, black raspberries, raspberries & strawberries. Mid red cola, sweet tarriness, anise to black licorice, dry stones, crushed, dry rocks, medium, dark spice with just a touch of heat, savory, smoked, grilled meats, dry tobacco, well worn, softened leather, underbrush, limestone & sandstone minerals, steeped tea with beautiful florals fields of dark, red, blue, violets and soft lavender. The acidity is like a warm, river palate dip. The ripe, juicy, elegant, well balanced finish is delicious and persists a few minutes with excellent florals on the long set.
June 16, 2016 - A Night of Truly Diverse Wines (Newtown, Sydney): Straightforward and true to form, with a nose of sweet red fruit and a raspberry-dominated palate. Easy drinking, if a touch one dimensional.
May 1, 2016 - No surprises here; this is smooth, easy going, local, polished, but the cool vintage suits this domaine likes mourning becomes Electra, it adds a freshness, that the Janasse-wine sometimes lacks. Very nice bottle, mature, but no hurry, lots of primary fruit available here.

May 4, 2014 - Very ripe, a little cough-syrupy initially, calms down a little with time. A big CdP, and I'll wait a couple of years on the other bottle though I'm not sure which way it will go.
March 9, 2014 - Slightly cloudy purplish hue. Dark fruited for a CDP. This is drinking well, if a bit foursquare at present. There's a tangy, juiciness here that's a nice change of pace for CDP. Well-judged concentration, alcohol in check. My score is conservative if this develops more nuance. 87-88.
