October 14, 2023 - Another excellent wine from this stellar producer. Not as open and ready to drink as the 2011 which I purchased at the same restaurant in Tuscany. Tannins are still firm that said this is elegant medium bodied. The 2011 is more ready to drink. I left one glass overnight and it was better in day two. So I would say if you are drinking it, give it a full 8 hour decant at a minimum.

May 20, 2023 - Sangiovese study, Volume II (Chicago, IL): I'm not totally sold on the Salvioni style -- the wines just feel too big and intense for what I tend to like. While this was lighter and relatively more red-fruited than the massive 2009, it still showed much of the same producer signature. On the palate, this is simpler and is more focussed on the scale and structure than fruit or mineral nuance. An impressive wine nevertheless.

February 25, 2023 - 4 hour slow ox, and could have used more air as each glass was markably better than the prior. Drink now but no rush whatsoever

July 15, 2022 - Enjoyed with an enormous veal chop parmesan at Piero's in Las Vegas. This was a wine that kept me smiling and thinking "wow" throughout the meal. Just perfect pairing with the veal. Otherwise consistent with my previous notes.

March 2, 2022 - Five years later and tried again. Wonderful! Purple/brown hue, strong rich nose. Subtle first Brunello burst of red fruits - dark cherries, but very soft as it quickly goes into a rich earthy finish - barny, leather, smoke. Long linger that makes you grin. A great wine from a good year and drinking very well.
