  A write-off vintage but this is a total gem. Beautifully precise fruit. Full of wild strawberry and a hint of menthol. Add in a smidge of rocks. Real length and purity of fruits. Elegant. Stayed consistent throughout.

  August 15, 2018 - Wow! picked up a few at auction, fearing the worse. Levels were ok but not great. Lovely wild red fruit with touch of pepper spice, tapenade. Although not as dense as a recent '88 and '91, given the vintage, the length and elegance surpassed expectations. Still enough freshness to assume that plateau will continue. Sometimes lesser vintages give as much pleasure as the grand ones....
