November 27, 2023 - Exuberant black fruit and hints of dark chocolate. Delicious now with forward fruits but probably will mature with more elegance in a few more years. Will wait another 5 years to taste the remaining 2 bottles.

January 27, 2023 - Nice color and body in the glass. Open bouquet of black fruit. On the sweet side, but the flavors are well balanced and the finish is substantial and true. Drinking well now, will hold up for a long time but not likely to improve.

April 22, 2022 - A powerful Amarone that is not too sweet and finishes with a whoosh of alcohol. Still could use some time.

(10/6/2020) Still very closed with drying flavors and plenty of tannin. Hopefully as the tannins soften the fruit will emerge.

(12/18/2016) Deep plum color. Closed, somewhat earthy nose. Dusty, restrained, damson plum flavors. Seems to be made in a more modern style — i.e., more stainless than wood. The 16% alcohol along with moderate tannins dominate the relatively dry finish. Fruit starts to show on the 2nd day. Definitely needs another 5 years at least.

    October 10, 2019 - Light
    Low tannin (but high acl)
    Deep fruits like plum
    Ruby to plum red
    Smooth
    Balanced

Smells: terroir, grass, minerality, blackberry, jam, no string alc smell

February 18, 2019 - I opened and decanted this around 8pm one evening, hoping to drink it a couple of hours later, but at that time it was quite nasty - hot, sweet, totally unbalanced.

I came back to it the next day at 7pm and it was much improved: some nice tannins have developed, the alcohol heat has moderated, as has the sweetness. The result is pleasantly smooth with a nice bite on the quite long, spicy finish. On the second day this is much less "big" than other Amarones I've tried and doesn't have quite the complexity, but it's a very decent wine.

It's also a bit cheaper than most Amarones (in HK at least), so the QPR is OK.
