August 7, 2023 - Third of six and the best yet. No rush to drink the others.

November 27, 2022 - My estimation of my will power was wildly optimistic. Now three bottles down in just over 6 months. This hasn’t moved since my earlier note but is just too damned tasty to bury in the cellar. I’m upgrading this to “drink now”. After all, who knows what will happen to the wine in the next 3 years. Or us, come to that.

September 11, 2022 - Dense, inky red colour. Attractive nose of red fruits and a touch of sweet musk and oak. Rounded mouthfeel - sweet musk, red fruits, a touch of sarsaparilla and a good, smooth medium length finish. Nicely balanced and drinking well.

March 21, 2022 - This is still inky purple and quite dense. Nose of tar and camphor together with cherry. Think cherry Tunes if you’re of a certain age. In the mouth this is still fruit led: cherry, black plum then a creamy mouthfeel, bit peppery and medicinal. Tannins are super fine but quite pronounced, drying the mouth and leaving a bitter, savoury finish. This is the sort of wine I consider to be thoughtful, cerebral. Constant change between the entry and finish. Needs food but lots going on. No change on Day 2. I’d say it’s got years left. Looking forward to the journey. Good.

February 8, 2020 - A mellowing purple. Initially sweet black cherry on the nose, blackcurrant. Some secondary smoke from the oak. Earth and hint of mushroom coming through.

Medium bodied. Acidity is still very pronounced and the tannins softening but still persistent on the long finish. A lot of cherry still on the palate
