Community Tasting Notes 7

March 31, 2024 - This was really delicious- hugely overperformed against its price and status. No detailed note but recall it delivering a wonderful nose, deep fruit and complexity from bottle aging of a far greater appellation in Bordeaux. Enjoyable from first to last sip (had been slow ox’d for a few hours prior to serving). Would buy again without hesitation.

December 27, 2022 - This is one of those super values from the Left Bank of Bordeaux that did everything right! Medium-bodied, fresh, and loaded with sweet, ripe, soft-textured blackberries, currants, tobacco, dried flowers, and hints of underbrush. This is drinking in its sweet spot. Drink from 2023-2031.

August 28, 2021 - I agree with the prior reviewer. The wine is drinking very well. However, there is almost no noticeable oak now and the the palate is mainly cassis, gravel and a hint of floral spice on the backend. It's medium bodied with a moderate to short finish, which is my only nit. Nevertheless, it's a very nice and drinkable wine for the price point. More than worth of its classification as Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois. I would definitely buy this again for under $50. Drink now with at least a 30 min. decant.

April 6, 2020 - Deep red. Aromatic pleasant fruit with hints of vanilla on the nose. Plums, Blackcurrent, fine oak. Elegant tannin, good acidity structure, medium body and long finish. Enjoyable balanced and complex wine that draws the subsequent glass.

March 9, 2020 - Needs a 1 hr decant. Still young and undeveloped. Try again in 2023.
