February 29, 2024 - Vinous Italy Icons with Eric Guido (Feb 2024, NYC): The most open and the only wine in the Passopisciaro trio I was comfortable scoring, but nevertheless too early for prime time. Pungent soil nose. High acidity and clipped dudsy finish. 92/100

January 2, 2023 - Slightly smoky, medium bodied, firm acidity - better with food (a little austere on its own). Tasty.

November 6, 2022 - Monthly Tasting Group: Far North & Far South Italy (Chianti Grill, Roseville, MN): Small glass. So earthy and mossy, umami galore, dried flowers, savory, cinnamon and spice, open with deep forest floor notes, and cedarbox. The palate is red fruited with leather, red berries, spices, nice tannins, and such earth and umami again. Loved it.

November 6, 2022 - Steve P's btl at Chianti Grill Roseville. Served 90 minutes after the start of dinner. I've never had their Contradas so this was fun to try. I could be wrong, but I think, Steve double decanted at home? Deep ruby but not opaque. Mostly resolved with a little tannin mid palate yet to fully mend. Stony mineral infused red & blk raspberry along w/ spice, herbs & underbrush notes. Hint of plum too. This has more concentration & intensity than my '15 Passorosso but the Passorosso was more fully realized & placid tonight. The Contrada C needs at least 3 more years. The Contrada C is all together sturdier & masculine than my "ready to go" sublime '15 Passorosso. Really fun to drink a couple Contradas alongside my Passorosso! Thanks Steve P!

December 8, 2021 - I have to admit that I lose track of these Passopisciaro bottlings, but they are tasty. I drank several different ones shortly after the 2014s were released, but decided to put a few aside. I am glad I did. It’s still high octane, but there’s much more complexity than several years ago. Floral, red fruit, licorice carried on a still tannic spine that portends further development, though I am leery of the 15% alcohol taking over not so long from now. There’s bright acidity that works very well with a pizza, so why not open and enjoy!
