Pale light yellow. Very neutral, almost nonexistent nose with alpine minerality and the faintest hints of almond. Very crisp, clean and mineral palate with high acidity and crisp, persistent mousse. Flavors of stony minerality, some green apples and hints of hay. Rather short, mineral finish with flavors of bitter minerality, green apple, some hay and hints of almond. The bitterness and acidity persist for quite awhile in the mouth.
It is a feat to age wine on the lees for 5 years and get a wine that is as neutral and mundane as this. Nice structure and clarity, but it would be nice if there was at least some flavor to the wine. Almost completely mute with very simple, light flavors and no complexity whatsoever. Although I always recommend people to explore the wonderful wines of Alta Langa, I also suggest to skip this one. At 30€ in a restaurant this was a ripoff.
