Community Tasting Notes 6

November 4, 2023 - See my prior note. Same comments but would add that the wine hits its stride about 2-3 hours after opening, becoming substantially more mineral and textured. This begins to fade a bit about 4-5 hours in, with more floral notes and sweetness. Overall a very good wine.

February 23, 2023 - I had one of these when staying at the Lion D’Or in Romarantin in the Loire Valley this past October. Terrific wine, had it with a Clos Rougeard Le Bourg. What a pair!

Anyway, we liked it so much so I picked up six of them when we got back here in the states. Had the first of the six tonight. I would echo the prior notes regarding tasting… This is an absolutely delicious wine with good minerality, a nice bead of acidity, and length to spare. The nose has the concentrated grapes and the palate follows with lemon curd, lemon zest and some herbal elements. Very drinkable.

October 21, 2021 - Clear, pale straw core, with unusually strong green reflections. Lemon curd, intensely fresh grapes, "Sweet Tart" candies and spearmint on the nose. Medium-bodied, just a hint of residual sugar, crisp acidity and an intensely mineral streak — all of which makes for a brilliantly balanced wine. A bit of age can be discerned on the back end (in the form of a very slightly candied finish), and the fruit intensity (fresh grape, lemon) is impressive. Wow.

October 28, 2020 - Two community notes so far! Are people not drinking this wine? I guess that's great for those who love this. Great citrus (with a little melon peel) from nose to long finish without any tartness. The acidity was there but there was also a roundness to the wine. The minerality was there too which was great with the halibut I had tonight.

March 4, 2020 - I was assigned to bring the postprandial cheese course for a meal with friends. Sauvignon blanc and especially Sancerre is my wine of choice for cheeses. The Cotat was delicious; long with a green melon, lemon zest, and vague but engaging membrillo flavour.
