Community Tasting Notes 3

October 31, 2006 - Very nice. Proprietor at our local wine shop said she really likes this as a good wine to slug back while on the porch (I don't have the stamina for that) but she is right. Tannins reach out and say howdy - but do not overwhelm or get in the way of the fruit. 50% zin gives this nice berry flavors while the syrah and cab give it complexity. Great bottle and fantastic QPR. I'll get more of this just in case I get the urge to sit on the porch and start slugging!

October 19, 2006 - Powerful raspberry, cherry, and blueberry explode on your palate in this jammy, fruit forward wine. Nice viscosity makes this blend fun and satisfying in your mouth. Smooth and pleasant finish of spice, connamon and cedar makes this wine a great choice for most foods.

July 3, 2006 - Brick - garnet red. Fruit forward nose complimented by wood spice and pepper. Smooth midpalate and finish, particulary after this wine gets some air (1-2 hours). This is quite drinkable now, though - for a young wine of these varietals, the tannins are quite fine and integrated. Very good blend (50% Zin, 32% Petite Sirah, 13% Syrah, 5% Cab), perhaps a bit easier to pair with food than a striaght Zin: less ripeness more complexity and structure.
