Community Tasting Notes 3

April 6, 2023 - Sight: Clear and bright, medium ruby color with brick rim
Nose: Clean and developing aromas of dried red fruit (cherry, cranberry), dried herbs (thyme, oregano), leather, tobacco, and earthy undertone
Palate: Dry with high acidity, high tannins, and high alcohol. Medium to full-bodied with flavors of red fruit (cherry, raspberry), leather, tobacco, and earthy notes. The tannins are grippy, providing a firm structure and a long finish.
Conclusion: This is a well-structured and complex Barolo with developed aromas of dried red fruit, herbs, leather, and earthy undertones. The high acidity, tannins, and alcohol provide a firm structure and balance to the wine. This wine can be enjoyed now but has potential for further aging.

October 7, 2017 - The nose is immediately inviting with whiffs of smoke, plum and meats. It is full and textured with a big hit of fruit up-front and flavours that dry off nicely on the finish.

    September 29, 2017 - At the winery.
Deeper ruby-purple than the 2013 No Name
Nose is intense, sweet cherry and Kirsch.
    Initially: wow, lovely mouthfeel.
Palate of cedar, strawberry, cherry, other red and black fruits.
Finish: Very, very fine tannins, nicely resolving, lots of them though. Hints of tar, smoke.
This is really very good. For the basic Barolo: impressive.
    92+/100 (2.2+)
