February 22, 2023 - APPEARANCE: After 7-8 years in bottle, no sediments at all. Not even the slightest grain of deposits. The only reasonable explanation I can think of for this must be fairly heavy filtration at bottling.
NOSE: Some stewed and dried fruits, earthy notes including elements of leather and tobacco, drying dark cherries. Moderate intensity. (87-88p)
TASTE: The arrival is dry and a bit bland. On the mid palate a slight dryness, medium tannins, less fruitiness (mainly dried fruits), some astringency. Not unpleasant but a bit coarse and rustic. (82-83p)
    FINISH: Rustic (82p)
OVERALL: Best with hearty foods. TOTAL SCORE 84 points.

27.02.2023 - DAY 5 UPDATE (kept cold in the fridge since uncorking)
NOSE: Earthy notes, leather, dark cherries, blackberries. Hints of smoke and some "fat" herbs. (88-89p)
TASTE: Moderate, mature fruitiness, some juiciness, medium light body. (84p)
FINISH: Slightly juicy. Mild, polished tannins, a little boring perhaps. (83-84p)
OVERALL: Slight improvement both on the nose and in the mouth. Correspondingly I upgrade it one point, to its new TOTAL SCORE of 85 points.
