Community Tasting Notes 9

October 21, 2023 - Light to medium red tawny color. Smoky, red fruit nose. Smooth entry, but shows declining fruit in the mid-palate and finish. Fading, Fading…about to be gone.

December 26, 2016 - Fading, delicate, not much primary fruit, a little tannin left.

October 25, 2014 - 2001 Bordeaux plus Rhones, Burgs and More: Fairly bretty, but that doesn't bother me. Nice acidity, it is at peak, but with plenty of life left.

June 9, 2013 - Brick red and showing signs of maturity (expected on btl of this age of course). Straight from the btl this was showing reductive notes of rubber and a touch sulphur. Decanted this immediately dissipated to reveal layers of violet, strawberry, pepper and hint of funky N.Rhone notes. This is just starting to hint toward early signs of oxidation so on the downward slope though tonight it was a fine btl, a lovely experience of tasting mature Hermitage. (I am slightly apprehensive about my remaining 2 x btls though!)

June 7, 2011 - Very peppery, although a bit acidic and short on fruit. Colour still purple. Probably should have already been drunk (of course, the bitchy will go one further and say "probably should have been declassified as CdR").
