March 13, 2022 - A nice surprise. A balanced Cali Cab expressing all kinds of fruit -- cherry, plum, blueberry. A hint of cassis and oak. Medium bodied, smooth tannins. Not intensely concentrated, has a relatively short finish of vanilla and pencil shavings. A superior value for money.

April 30, 2020 - Still holding its own. Solid with pasta dinner.

April 29, 2017 - Garnet, lignt medium body, mild aromas of red fruit, cassis, herbal greens, bramble, and a touch of barnyard funk, flavors of dark red and black fruit, decent structure, simple but potent, short finish. superb qpr @ 7.5$ and a steal after the case rebate of $32 for older world style lovers.

November 18, 2016 - This is really a wonderful effort for a California appellation, grocery store Cabernet. Easily the best I have tasted for at least a couple of years. There is an incredible amount of pure Cabernet flavors like barnyard influenced mineral, graphite and green garden. Lively and persistent, mouth coating cranberry, raspberry, mulberry, cherry cough drop and blueberry fruit. Very well balanced. Considerable amount of medium heavy toast oak. Still young, but very silky tannins. Just a little bit of concentration away from breaking the 90 point glass ceiling.

November 8, 2016 - This wine has a dark color, and a rich, almost Bordeaux-like nose, with a lot of oak, cassis, and even a bit of barnyard. The oak is still prominent on the palate, although a bit more muted. Much dark fruit, a bit soft. Smooth finish. Smells Old World, tastes New World, but in a good sort of way. Certainly a standout at this price point ($10 to $12). So nice to find a Cabernet that tastes like Cabernet, and not bottled cotton candy.
