November 18, 2023 - I am a long- time Zilliken fan and have enjoyed greatly their chiseled auslesen and crisp spatlesen with age. I suppose it is the 2015 vintage, which, like 2005, has difficult time producing true kabinetten. Even with the higher oechsle expected, this was too ripe and displayed less acid tension or complexity. It may need several more years. Lots of petrol, a bit of flint and citrus, but not a lot of excitement.

April 15, 2022 - Really pretty stone fruit flavors, but I felt like I was missing some of the other layers of flavor that I often find in Rieslings (earthy, vegetal, mineral). Also, to me, just a hair too intense and thick for a Kabinett (but, admittedly, I haven't had very many Kabinett wines). Decent match with Mexican food, which is what I was going for.
