Tart Riesling-like, searing acidity, this is Keller-like in concentration, or more appropriately like assyrtiko, but still has the bitter edge and savory green bay laurel herbal notes of Loureiro. reduction plays a big part, giving it the toasty aromas and some diesel with a waxy texture not unlike well aged hunter semillon. fruit is rather 1 dimensional, tart lemon and lime only. finish is textural, showing high levels of extract. in the end this is intriguing, and well executed but simple. 12% ABV pH 3.08 7.2g/l TA

    December 3, 2018 - Always a special bottle, aromatic and soft.
    Now, with some years, it shows that olfactory delight reminiscent of white truffles, wet earth or sour cream. Intense and precise.
    On the palate it is dense, with depth, a pointed acidity that augurs a long life (at least three years on top) and a delicious and bitter aftertaste. Any defect? It is a round bottle but being so good it seems a bit short.
    Although it does not stop growing, Manuel is still a colleteiro. Plenty of kindness with the fans. His doors are always open. Eighth Ribeiro of the season.

    Siempre una botella especial, aromática y suave.
    Ahora con algún año muestra esa delicia olfativa que recuerda a la trufa blanca, a la tierra mojada o a nata agria. Intenso y preciso.
    Al paladar es denso, con profundidad, una acidez puntiaguda que augura una larga vida (al menos tres años en la cumbre) y un delicioso y amargo postgusto. ¿Algún defecto? Es una botella redonda pero siendo tan buena se me antoja un poco corta.
    Aunque no para de crecer, Manuel es aún un colleteiro. Y de los amables con los aficionados. Sus puertas siempre están abiertas. El octavo Ribeiro de la temporada.

    August 19, 2016 - From L'Yonne to Ribeiro; 8/11/2016-8/20/2016 (France - Spain): From cask at Formigo's winery.
    Still those lovely notes on the nose I remember very well. Direct and lush with a more than a decent performance on the palate.
    Can't match X but it is very close to.

    Directamente del barril en la bodega de Manuel Formigo.
    Todavía conserva esos ricos aromas que recuerdo muy bien. Directo y exuberante en nariz común una más que decente actuación en boca.
    No puede destronar a X pero está cerca a su estilo.

    June 10, 2016 - Ribeiro, la Denominación de Origen más antigua de Galicia (Lavinia - Madrid): Bark of candied lemon with hints of mint and honey. With rich acidity and short haul . Yet this bottle represents more than a curiosity and is better than its Portuguese counterparts.

    Corteza de limón confitada con notas de menta y miel. Con rica acidez y corto recorrido. Aún así esta botella representa algo más que una curiosidad y es mejor que sus pares portugueses.
