October 18, 2019 - This certainly takes the cake as far as sheer power and concentration is concerned. I ended up usually having the 2 cl dram with two tablespoons of water and it still is the most potent nose (halva, a little hazelnut, “pattex” and deep, deep moscovado sugar) and palate (roasted furniture/saw dust glazed with brown sugar and coca cola) of all whisky I have had this far. Too bad that the later bottlings dropped the age statement. This here, though, is a real benchmark and/or standard for top quality.
Not the most elegant of bourbons, but I am not drinking bourbon for elegance. This is archaic power.1 person found this helpful Comment
