November 30, 2023 - This wine is in a nice place right now. Subtle tannic structure, good balance. Tannins and fruit tend to the black tea bitter side, rather then the sweet side. Still nice red berry fruit, plummy, spices/herbs, black tea. Smooth. Dusty tannins, mid length to the finish.

June 7, 2023 - Really excellent. With BBQ beef tenderloin. First rate and ready to go.

    September 3, 2022 - Still a baby - decant required.

January 10, 2022 - Hmmm, I thought this may need a brief decant off the sediment and delight immediately but in fact it needed almost 4 hours to show itself. Very disjointed at opening. Alcoholic nose masking dark red fruit and damp leather. Very crunchy fruit on the palate. All tannin and acid. Left it in the decanter and moved on to a go-to Cali (‘17 Martini Napa). Still a bit angular at hour 3 but the fruit was stepping forward. Hour 4 and mostly enjoyable save for the alcohol burn on the finish. I like my single-malts to have a life-affirming burn on the finish but not my wines. This has more life in it and I will re-mark the bottles with 2024 open tags.

November 10, 2017 - Great BC Red. Very complex, even at this young age. Will only get better.
