July 2, 2016 - Ministry of Clouds tasting at Wine Culture (Roseville, NSW): (blend of blewitt springs + clarendon) Inky dark plums, white pepper, leather. Elegant white florals, leather, herbal, ginseng, tungkway. Way-too-young grippy tannins, but beautiful density and balance. Finishes with a quirky citrus, mandarin peel. Needs a decade to settle down, and will be rather enjoyable!

June 28, 2016 - Moncur Syrah/Shiraz (Bistro Moncur, Sydney): perfumed blackberry and pepper, wild ferment fartiness and a slight creamy note…in the mouth it's fleshy and generous with peppery notes, chalky tannins. Though it could be reasonably argued that there isn't much fruit the harmonious nature is most pleasant. Lovely in fact.
