July 23, 2022 - No flu this time. Atypical nose - salty black olive overtone. Medium bodied with a ferrous slightly charcoally edge. Mouthcoating fine tannin at back palate and long finish. Dtinkable now but will improve over next 5 years and probably last 10 from now.

September 28, 2019 - I prefer the 2013 by a long way. There’s a slight salty black olive character (one that I don’t mind in Margaret River Cabernet) that feels out of place here. Is good, but the 2013 is excellent.

June 8, 2019 - 14.5%. The last of it's line, after this vintage there will be no more. Middle of the 3 quality levels in the Bin series. Clean, earthy, berry nose. Palate affected by the flu so preliminary notes only as everything tastes weird. Tastes very young. strong iron tannin. Back palate shot by the flu so can't say much more.
Next Day - an unevolved wine which seems to need 5-10 years to open up. Not the most fruit driven Hunter I have seen, more structural and a bit unyielding at this point. there are better 2014s out there.

March 23, 2019 - Near identical profile to the 1410. And where the value is to be had at less than half price. I paid $20 a bottle which was an absolute steal. Extremely approachable now and will live for an eternity.

June 26, 2016 - 2014 Trio Release Dinner - June 2016: This was reason enough to make the trip out to Pokolbin on a 3 degree night. It showed up all of the '14 and '06 trio wines on the table, and it's not due for release for another year or two. This is a simplistic, yet compelling wine, especially for its age. Warm oak greets you into a medium bodied shiraz, showing an array of red berries with some purple fruits around the edges. This is spotlessly clean and has an astounding finish. On the way home I was still savouring it, comparing against classic graveyard vintages. Yep, it was that good. Bloody amazing, actually.
