January 2, 2023 - 2014 vintage, had in cellar 5 years. Tested 1/2/23. What a great find! Garnet color. Cherry, currant and earthy to the nose. Medium thickness legs. This wine has aged really nicely. Medium complexion with a elegant smoth atack. Perfect balance of acidity. Probably at its peak. Love it!

Terrific pairing with salad, pork chops and sauerkraut.

February 13, 2022 - I’d been eyeballing this bottle in the cellar for quite a while. Today was the day for it. Had a feeling it would be a perfect lunch wine with Italian food due to the 12.5 ABV. Had with a Chicago style vegetarian pizza. Prior notes on color were pretty much on target ruby-ish purple in color for me. Surprisingly not much browning at the edge of the glass yet. Palate was blackberry, plum and tart cherry. I got a hint of cola mid palate as well. It held its own with a garlicky spinach and tomato pizza. I’d recommend it with an Italian dish rather than on its own. If I see it again for ten bucks I’ll be buying more. Very pleased with it given the price point and age of the bottle. Alas this was the last one in my cellar.

August 26, 2019 - Largely consistent descriptors as last time, but somehow a bit more enjoyable experience with this bottle. Certainly at least an 85-86 pt. dolcetto here today.

November 20, 2018 - Coravin pour of a glass with pizza for lunch. It pours a medium purplish ruby color. It smells like dark fruits (black + dark red + blue) with a bit of dark chocolate, walnut, and graphite. Medium body and acid, medium (-) finish, with flavors of dark skinned plum, black cherry, and a little minerality. Not very complex, but I guess it works at the $11 sale price paid; I am not upset I didn't pick up more than 2 though. Suitable for pizza and the like. 83-84
