Reticent on the nose. Reduced. Much of the 2015 acid, but not a lot of the accompanying fruit intensity. Closed down?
Soft, powdery texture behind the acid core. Florals and light tropicals. Grapefruit, melon, red berries, a hint of mint.
After 4 days open, honied mango, melon, and peach appear on the nose. The palate is still restrained.
Opinion: Closed down. Needs considerable time and/or a long decant to reveal it’s true nature. -

September 11, 2018 - Pale straw in color with faint yeast aroma with peach, nectarine, citrus zest, and mineral. Zippy with sweet yet tart lemon sherbet, lime, pineapple, and peach on the palate. Slight citrus rind on the finish.

Am Gaumen fruchtsaftig und jugendlich pikant, gut struktuierter Körper, ausgezeichnete Präsenz, vollmundig und elegant. Schöner lebendiger Abgang. Ein wunderbarer fruchtiger Kabinett, begeistert durch Leichtigkeit und Eleganz, für mich heute 89/100.
Die nächste Flasche Lay Kabinett drehe ich erst 2019 auf. -

October 30, 2017 - Golden straw. Slightly viscous. Some nice stone fruit pit; pronounced sweetness. Very consistent, with little development, but no degradation, over six nights in small pours.
