Community Tasting Notes 13

April 28, 2019 - Wow! this has turned into one of the best Barolos I have tasted. Super inviting nose, all of the autumnal notes together with fruits of the forest and complexity and length that is more like a port. Just fantastic and shows what happens when wines like this are left to full maturity

May 8, 2016 - Even better. Real wow factor now. I'll risk leaving the last three for another 2-3 years

November 8, 2014 - Very elegant, balanced, and refined. Dark fruits and increasing elements of spice as the wine aerates. Long subtle finish of pepper and spice.

September 28, 2014 - See GODX below. However after 2 more years this has developed wonderfully. Just really good complex rich Nebbiolo which has benefitted from 16 years which is a pretty good estimate of what these wines need to really show their true potential.

July 11, 2013 - this bottle was wonderful sweet tannins perfectly melded with just a touch of balsamic reduction and vibrant dusty cherries. Real good stuff and held up over 2 days. Actually got better.

Rockss and Fruit

(Corino Barolo "Vigneto Giachini") Dissapointed in this wine. Very aromatic nose of leather, black fruits, cough syrup, chestnuts, cake, oak and tar. Chunky and concentrated but a little hot and very obviously "new school' Barolo. So much fruit but not much excitement. Maybe time will mellow this out.
