February 13, 2023 - Just a little too much oxidation here, with bruised apple and pear things dominating proceedings and caramel blunting the detail. It is full and rich with some vanilla spice.

January 14, 2021 - Opened for a small taste about an hour before pouring. Pox roulette and we won. Beautiful straw color; no hint of premox. Tightly coiled at first, but opened up with time in the glass. The best sips were 2+ hours in. Lovely orchard fruits and bright white flowers with wet stone on the nose. Perfect Grand Cru weight. Palate was slight understated, but brought lovely white peach and minerality with a solid acidic core. Very balanced. One notch short of profound, but a lovely wine in a great place.

May 25, 2015 - Not especially monumental for a white Grand Cru but this had the presence one expects. Good finish and still rather young at this moment. No hint of pox here. Easy drinking but lightish in body.

January 9, 2014 - Tart citrus, lots of pineapple/tropical notes. Initially a blank spot in the mid-palate which fills out with some air. No advanced notes, in fact still quite primary and acidic. Shows the lean minerality of Criots and still the fat of Grand Cru. A shame to open this early just out of fear of the premox monster.

April 14, 2009 - Wine Exchange 2004 Grand Cru White Burgundy Tasting (Sonoma): Dan very generously opened this bottle because the Fontaine-Gagnard Criots was corked. Sublime, nicely textured, lovely balance and focus. Another crowd pleaser.
