December 6, 2021 - Medium ruby, with significant fading on edges, and somewhat viscous. Very ripe, even stewed red cherries and cranberries, as well as a bit of green fern, cinnamon, cloves, and charcuterie. Tannins completely softened, whilst mostly peppery meaty yet green minty flavours as well as ripe cranberries, then cloves and nutmeg. Quite a good length of peppers and stewed meat. Nice!

October 21, 2021 - Medium garnet. Tannins totally resolved, with a feel of savoury brine and fairly ripe red cherry, some mushroom and truffles, and an impression of red stones. Fairly long at the back

March 27, 2020 - I had higher hopes for this given 89 was a great Pomerol vintage and these vines are now owned by VCC and Hosanna. PnP - grew a little weight with some slow ox, but tired. Nose of only HINTS of cigar box and smoke with little to no fruit. No clues cepage left. Palate is still tannic. Maybe this was in its prime 15 years ago, but of little value today. FYI, this was a perfectly stored bottle.

September 28, 1993 - 1989 Cabernet Sauvignon versus 1989 Bordeaux (Beltramo's, Menlo Park, Ca. 94025): Light/medium brilliant red coloration in the glass, oak on the nose, pleasant, rich fruity taste, good acid and balance, long, long finish, My #7 and Group #8. $32.99
