March 2, 2016 - Lynch Bages dinner at RPM Steak (Chicago, IL): Could it be? The first Suduiraut that is actually convincing? Well, this one certainly is. Marmalade, orange peel, cinnamon, star anise, nutmeg, caramel, the aroma elements here are precisely defined and identifiable, and immensely alluring. The palate is showing lovely aged Sauternes quality -- the same orange marmalade, caramel, and brown spice in a kaleidoscopic array. Great acidity to balance out the sweetness, and despite what must have once been a blowsy wine, this has certainly calmed down to a state of refinement. An incredible wine.

November 27, 2015 - Dark amber color, good fill and solid cork. This bottle is definitely on the autumnal side with molasses, brown butter and pineapple. Cerebral at this stage, enjoyable with dessert, but this bottle was a little past its best

November 23, 2010 - Complex nose. Actually prefer it to the more lauded 1967. Very very long.

December 7, 2008 - Solid performance for this long distance runner. Medium amber color, with rich nose of orange liqueur and almonds (touch of VA?), but flavors are mature and medium sweet. This example not drying out in the finish...picked up sweetness after a half hour in the glass. Delicious, but probably now too expensive.

September 2, 2008 - What a treat to drink something in this good a shape that's even older than I am! Medium amber, with a lovely candied botrytis nose. Strong acidity perhaps a little overwhelming the remaining sweetness of this wine, but all together quite nice. Some caramel, tropical fruits and smoke. Finish just a little short.
