February 3, 2018 - Ruby with purple tint, no signs of aging. Black cherries, blackberries, black tea and flowers, licorice. This is still very fruity and in a blind tasting it would be considered to be a much younger wine. It has shed some of its tannin. So, in my opinion cellaring is a benefit for this wine, though it is recommended by many professional tasters to drink it within its first 5 or so years. I never rated this higher than today and I don't believe that it will loose his sex appeal in the next 5 years minimum. If you have textbook cellaring conditions this has more than a decade to come. This was stored between 16°C in winter and max 19 °C in summer. It showed not the slightest hint of oxidation and the colour showed nothing of brown or orange tints. Sad, that there are so many poor cellared bottles out there. 5/11/16/9

June 19, 2015 - This was ten years in the bottle and drank much too late to give a good indication of what it was about in its mature years. But, for the record it was violet colored and just oranging. Rose and vanilla very strong on the nose, perhaps some iris - overall very floral. Almost water like, very weak - red berries and again perhaps iris. Although weak, it was rounded on the mid palette and finished longer (medium) than I expected.

January 27, 2014 - Excellent medium dark garnet color on glass with browning evident. Oxidation evident in bouquet. Good fruit on palate but showing age. Fading but not cracking up. A couple years past prime but still nice. Sediment at bottom of the last glass. Drink up!

December 22, 2010 - Reached its prime. Consumed after some younger Morgons, so far milder by comparison. Still alive, but waning.

November 2, 2010 - Coup de Coeur in the Guide Hachette and has developed well. Lovely sweet fruit, violets, firm and elegant, nice earthy depth, finely grained tannins and good length. Well done Georges!

(Georges Dubœuf Morgon) Group's #4 (my #4) – 22 pts; 1, 1, 0, 0 – peppery red fruit nose, that opens up to more deep cherry as it sits in the glass; tight, high acid, balsamic edges; medium tart finish 87+ pts.
