  Opened the bottle and loved the bouquet. Tasted it and almost poured the bottle into the sink... oak bomb, no fruit, yuk.
  
  But two hours later, it's opening up and sipping OK. Will see how it is tomorrow night.

  June 11, 2008 - Color is typical syrah, perhaps a little lighter at the edge than I expected. Medium body. Lots of fruit and some heat in the bouquet. About 30 minutes after opening there is still lots of heat and acidity. But the red fruits (cherry, plum) are enjoyable. Soft tannins.
  
  It needs a good two hours of air to dissipate the heat. Much more drinkable at that point.
  
  Finishing this bottle several days (3-4) after opening and it's much smoother now. Suggests several more years of good drinking.

  June 7, 2007 - Nice well balanced Syrah. Little bit more heat than I'd like but still enjoyable.

  June 4, 2007 - First smell was of fragrance, almost like perfume. The fruits really opened up after swirling. Tastes of pepper and roasted berries. Finishes fairly smooth.
