Community Tasting Notes 8

November 22, 2020 - PnP; at its best after 45 minutes open. Fresh, with vivid aromas and lingering (red-fruited) flavors. In no danger of passing anytime soon, with some early tertiary aromas (to a lesser extent, flavors) are beginning to emerge. Well balanced wine of place and grape at an affordable price, what's not to love. Drink now or in the next several years. recommended+

October 22, 2017 - Agree with others on the sulfur - it blew off somewhat but the wine would be much better w/o it. Otherwise, an interesting smoky aspect, more savory and meaty than other MdA. I do miss that bright fruit here. A little hot too, not overly so but just enough to throw slightly out of balance. Good not great.

October 15, 2017 - A very nice perfume of sweet red fruit on the nose, with a hint of reduction. The palate is light, supple, and eminently drinkable. It's certainly nowhere near the most complex wines, but it has that lovely quality of being as simple as you want it to be. There's a crispness to the fruit and minerality in this wine that goes so well with pizza, too...

September 11, 2017 - Marred by excess sulfur. Didn't blow off after 90 minutes. Returned for credit.

June 14, 2017 - I think the best part of this wine is the minerality. It's so incredible to see such clear minerality in a red wine, and I love it. The nose shows a little touch of funk, but it serves to add to the wine rather than to make it funky. The palate is certainly on the racy side, with its bright acidity, but again, it's the chalky minerality here (and which is, apparently, a common vein through all of the Tiberio wines) that is the most compelling feature.
