February 28, 2024 - PNP - Great nose of cherry and spices. Lighter color with a touch of cloudiness. Crisp raspberry and cherry flavors meld with a touch of oak and a nice mineral streak. Great acidity and silky tannins lead to a long finish. I thought this was a bit more complex than a 2018 Hamilton Russel Pinot from Oregon served alongside. In a great place 92 points.

December 5, 2023 - Deep ruby color, slightly transparent at the edge, medium bodied. No sign of the cloudiness that afflicted 2012s. Tremendous nose that started with sous-bois, but moved on quickly to "wet newsprint" and dark cherry. Red fruit and notes of licorice with a streak of salinity that serendipitously matched the too-salty short rib lasagna at Ulivo in Whitehouse. Definitely in the savory camp, rather than fruity or sweet. Beautifully balanced and the WOTN for the assembled team. Tasted immediately after (and alongside) a 1999 Chandon de Brialles Savigny les Beaune 1er Cru, which was excellent, but not quite matching this stunning wine.

July 11, 2023 - Subdued bouquet. Up front cherry damson red fruit. Medium bodied adequate length. Good acidity. Lacks complexity and mouth filling quality of great Pinot Noir.

May 5, 2023 - Ripe sour cherry nose. Nicely balanced palate of sufficient tart cherry fruit, cleansing acidity and softened almost creamy tannins. Lovely lengthy finish. Last bottle of 3.

April 10, 2023 - This was certainly a very good Pinot vintage for HR. Sweet, in a good way, red fruit as well as savoury notes and a slightly beef stock edge. Still drinking very well, indeed in a good vintage like this HR seems to need 7-8 years to really get going..
