November 14, 2009 - 98 Aussies Dinner; 11/1/2009-11/30/2009 (Lucas): Bright purple hue. Capsicums and spice lifted, pungent violets like a lift of viognier. Kinda alc but blew off to reveal fresh cherries. Slight mothball tainted but almost chocalatey plummish currants and brambly spices on the side. Moderate length but at most a two dimensional wine. Needs more aging time to round off.

November 14, 2009 - Top 1998 Aussies and Others (Lucas, Klapsons Hotel, Singapore): Well-made and extremely decent. Unfortunately, rather a far cry from the excellent Cab Sauv reserve and clearly a notch down from the 1998s on the night. Nose was quite modern, with toasty, woody, preserved winter-melon tinged oak notes, ripe plums and cassis, some earth, a touch of bramble. The oak became more pronounced with time in the glass. Palate was very pleasant. Great freshness, decent balance, with bright cassis flavours seasoned with a green hint of mint and flecks of spice. Finish was pretty good as well, with more dark fruit and a shade of prunes. Nice, but nothing outstanding.

December 28, 2008 - Delicious, good balance and flavour and some potential to age well over the next 5 years.

October 1, 2006 - WineAustralia Expo 2006 (Darling Harbour): A classic Margaret River nose of olive, herbaceous fruits and a dash of capsicum precedes an oddly confected palate, with a bit of a short finish. OK, but not outstanding.

July 15, 2006 - Cedar and some smoke on the nose. Palate has good structure for its level and should age well over the medium term.
