December 23, 2021 - A stunner! Full of life, sweetly fruited, deeply colored and structured. Fresh currant, cedary, that minty/eucalyptus thing you only get from old school Cali. Wow!

May 16, 2021 - This was absolutely spectacular. You'd be hard pressed to find even a first growth that would rival this wine at this age. Fruit, acid, texture, incredibly floral.

December 3, 2017 - Monday, November 20, 2017 at The Wolf in Oakland CA (served blind to my companions). W: "A luscious, fully developed, high-toned, aged California Cab. Very good acid balance, with definite cherry tones mixed in with the normal Cabernet notes plus some tertiary flavors hard to put a name to. Complex, long finish. Wow! My companions guessed Bordeaux, super Tuscan; Charles closest with ’86 Bordeaux. Mark: Dark cherry red in color. Beautiful bouquet. Soft and luscious in the mouth with dark plums, blueberries and a hint of cherry on the palate, Tannins completely resolved. A bit of eucalyptus in the background along with some unidentifiable herb nuances to add complexity. I guess a 1998 right bank Bordeaux. Wrong continent and only 22 years off. A truly excellent, very memorable wine.

November 20, 2017 - Served blind to us at the Wolf restaurant in Oakland. Previously decanted, but I don't know for how long. Dark cherry red in color. Beautiful bouquet. Soft and luscious in the mouth with dark plums, blueberries and a hint of cherry on the palate, Tannins completely resolved. A bit of eucalyptus in the background along with some unidentifiable herb nuances to add complexity. Truly an excellent wine. I'm thinking Bordeaux or possibly an old 1990ish Chateau Montelena. I finally guess a 1998 right bank Bordeaux. Wrong continent and only 22 years off. Might as well use a dart board. Nonetheless, a very memorable wine.

August 19, 2014 - The 1976 Conn Creek cabernet is still a youthful, saturated red, with a lovely bouquet of cassis, mint and cedar, and a full-bodied, complete palate impression. A very impressive older Napa cabernet.

(Conn Creek Cabernet Sauvignon) Group's #6 (my #4) – 67 pts.; 1, 1, 2, 1 – lovely redolent, spicy and peppery nose; sweet entry that turns to tartness and balsamic on mid-palate; sweet and tangy long finish
