April 21, 2023 - Saw on a dessert menu at one of our favorite restaurants and couldn’t pass it up.

Dark amber in color with an orange rim. Rich aromas of grilled pineapple and yellow peach, caramel, burnt brown sugar, and fig. There is so much going on in the palate, with a constant beam of orange marmalade and grilled pineapple with flavors of honeyed apricots, hazelnut, marzipan, fig, and almond cream woven in. While the wine is medium-bodied and rich in texture, it has racy acidity that allows it to glide across the palate effortlessly. So delicious!

July 2, 2018 - Excellent wine. Not too sweet, but great acidity balancing all together.

July 29, 2015 - Once again, this is an absolute joy to drink, and a monument of a wine. Impossible to catalogue all that's going on here, but there's an array of piercingly bright fruit ranging from tarter citrus to riper apricots, fiery high toned spicy notes, and other sweeter honeyed and orange marmalade-like accents all coming together very seamlessly. Incredible power and concentration on the palate, yet there's blazing acidity beneath that keeps it amazingly fresh and vibrant, and a finish that just keeps resonating. Spectacular. Thanks Ross.

February 19, 2013 - Nothing new to add to my earlier experiences with this wine. This remains one of the most mindblowing sweet wines I've ever tasted. It's packed with ripe apricot and tropical fruit and plenty of botrytis, but at the same time that fiery, high toned Rieslaner spice still comes through and the balance is stunning - it's intensely sweet and concentrated, yet there's blazing acidity beneath and absurd length. Just in case I needed a reminder that Hans-Günter Schwarz was a magician.

May 25, 2010 - Dear god... this is insane. Explosive in its intensity with a riot of tropical fruits, apricots and pineapple combined with all sorts of other honeyed, smoky and spicy flavour elements. Such complexity and depth here, with fiery acidity underneath cutting through the sweetness and keeping this from ever feeling too heavy or sweet, and an insanely long finish that just keeps going and going. Wow.
