July 1, 2019 - Wow, this bottle is in the zone. Dark fruits, black pepper, and strong acidity all presented in style so elegant that you have to remind yourself this is "just" a Dolcetto.

April 19, 2019 - Another good showing, the primary fruit has calmed down a little. Very good, balanced Dolcetto to drink over the next 2 years or so.

February 3, 2019 - Dark ruby. Pepper, licorice, and dark fruit. Lush, chocolatey, surprisingly robust acidity, round tannins. Fantastic Dolcetto as it has been every time.

January 11, 2019 - Whaaaa - this wine needs many hours to really blossom. Color: inky purple - very young. Nose: alcohol, deep black cherry, violets, spice, minerality. Mouth: earthy, dark fruits, medium+ acidity, medium- bodied, tannic finish. Excellent if you like the style/grape. Conclusion: too young - who says dolcetto can't age ??? :-) Another hit from Maria Teresa Mascarello.

January 8, 2019 - I certainly wish I had more of the 2015 Bartolo Mascarello Dolcetto in my cellar. Here I found a lifted and floral bouquet, showing a refreshing mix of violets and lavender with crushed blackberries, hints of floral undergrowth and crushed stone. On the palate, juicy, acid-driven textures were offset by a bitter twang of savory herbs, giving way to notes of blackberry with hints of spicy citrus. It finished fresh with mouthwatering acidity, blackberry and cherry fruit, and the slightest hint of tannin. This is so easy to like with wonderful purity.
