April 26, 2024 - Of all the great wines I had standing, including many 2008s (our anniversary year), this is the bottle Domino wanted to enjoy during our anniversary dinner. If I have learned anything in 16 years, it’s to keep Domino happy. So, our first of four bottles, double decanted off its sediment 8 hours before service. Deep youthful color. Aromas of cassis, licorice, chocolate, blackberry and plum. Full-bodied and youthfully firm, there’s some tannin yet to integrate. Flavors of plum, cassis and anise. Long finish. Youthfully gorgeous, but I think it’s best is yet to come…hold until 2029+.

December 25, 2023 - After a 5 hr decant, it is still ever changing. I have encountered anything from oaky to dusty to red licorice. Such an intriguing wine. Wish I had more to consume.

50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Smaak / Afdronk: 17 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 92/100

Colour: Deep dark red with a thin rim Aroma / bouquet: Even a day after opening, this wine is still semi-closed. Mainly dark dried fruit, a hint of vanilla / chic wood. Taste / Aftertaste: BP14 Also on the palate, this SHSS seems less expressive, but certainly no less pleasant and polished. Pleasant, slightly lactic acidity. Well-matured tannins. General / Potential: Am a big fan of HSS and have had many vintages in my glass. This one somehow manages to touch and convince me less. 50 + Color: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Taste / Aftertaste: 17 + General / potential: 9 = 92/100

July 24, 2023 - Well into my wine journey and this is my very first HSS. I decide to pull this for our family trip to Wyoming.

At PNP this is expressive like most modern Napa Cabs of this quality. Refined yet pushing the over the top expressiveness I've moved away from. I would love to know how these wines age. What secondary and tertiary flavors are hidden behind the beautiful blue fruit.

Small sample left for day two.

    Hold for further development.
