    January 19, 2023 - from magnum

inky purple red color, jammy crushed raspberry on the nose, cassis and black pepper, on the palate painfully young and jammy with good mineral underpinnings, blackberry notes, slightly stewed plums, where the regular bottling from 750mL was quite lovely - this reserve in magnum is still in a very young state and not yet fully come together, it is going to be a bigger and more extreme wine as compared to its little sibling- and will need all the more time to fully harmonize.

August 9, 2022 - Decanted for over 90 minutes but could have used more time. The nose was floral and jammy but somewhat closed off. Well balanced on the palate with great mouth feel lending to the precision with which it was made. Although the fruit is apparent up front and the tannins silky and well integrated, it lacks in complexity. Perhaps this is requiring a five hour decant or needs more time in the bottle to coalesce. If so and the complexity arises then this is a 100 pt wine all day. I see where some folks may be disappointed on here but this wine is very well made....it just needs some coaxing to show its true beauty. Hold.

August 8, 2020 - Tried a bit on a pop and pour and just way too closed off. Decanted 8 hours and finally started opening up. This would probably taste better day 2 but we all know it wouldn't last that long.
Color is opaque purple. Med+ aromas of cassis, blackberry compote, pie crust, sweet vanilla, baking spices, and bay leaf.
Palate, high acidity, rounded intense tannins that beg for some food, blueberry, blackberry, cassis, raisin, spiced dates, long finish. Pronounced intensity.
Would recommend a long decant or better yet hold another 5-7 years before opening. This was the screwcap bottle btw.
