Community Tasting Notes 10

October 3, 2023 - Similar to my last note but more blackberry than red fruit, still that shitake note. Quite shy, should've decanted.

November 17, 2022 - P&P but took 30 mins to open up. A lot less fruity than previous bottle and a bit shy. Shitake and raspberry. Might be going through a dumb phase. Lots of stuffing still, I'm not sure I'd recognise it as Beaujolais or even gamay but a good wine for sure.

November 14, 2020 - Mon Cherie and anise on the nose. Medium + acidity, high concentration. Lots of cherry fruit, Christmas spice. Long, cherry aftertaste. An excellent wine!

July 22, 2020 - It is night, and in the low 60s in LA. I am outside with this wine, and wow. On the nose: smoke, black cherry, wet stone. On the palate, so pure: black cherry pit, smoke, lovely acidity. Soft, very finely grained tannin rounds out the finish, which leans juicy. So good.

February 7, 2020 - Deep hedgerow fruit, much more fruit than the 2016s, with a shitake mushroom note in the background. Firm body. Both serious and enjoyable. Took to a dinner party and everyone stopped and commented and it was mentioned again when we left. Ageworthy but might be hard to resist drinking now.
