June 18, 2021 - Tasted at the winery. Previously tasted at the winery a bit over four and a half years ago and this wine is still showing quite well. Still has an intensely aromatic nose with lots of tropical notes and floral qualities. Medium bodied with good upfront and mid-body richness with a profile that shows mostly tropical fruit now with a backbone of citrus notes and acidity. As compared to my prior tasting, the fruit has rounded out a bit and lost some of its definition and the acidity and tart notes don't have the intensity they previously showed. However, the upside is the wine showed overall better balance. It clearly has both the structure and fruit to remain enjoyable for several additional years, but I now believe it will come close, but probably won't quite match the level that the 2009 reached.

July 9, 2018 - We enjoyed this over several days --- nicely chilled. Tropical fruits and some peach. Went well with grilled lobster tail the first night.

January 19, 2017 - Very young and fruity. Most dominant flavor is apple. Drinks very smoothly.

November 19, 2016 - Tasted at the winery. Very aromatic nose with intensely floral notes along with a variety of tropical fruits. Medium bodied, 11.5% ABV, 2.2% RS and as compared to the 2009, this wine showed considerably more acidity based structure and the fruit overall felt much more precise as opposed to integrated. The overall profile of upfront tropical fruit, background soft orchard fruits and finishing tart/citrus notes was roughly comparable to the 2009. But the 2015 showed more tropical notes, consistent with the vintage. Given where the acidity is, this wine may ultimately turn out to be superior to the 2009 with some cellar time.
