December 11, 2022 - Too soon? Decanted into large surface area container. Left at rt in decanter for 1 hr. Not ready. Hard for me to tell its potential.

September 19, 2021 - Very solid barolo. Already drinking very well but I expect this one to continue to get better. Nice tannins and great aroma.

March 1, 2020 - Nice wine with tannic overtones. Needs another year or two to mature.

April 25, 2019 - Almost the exact wine we searched for unsuccessfully from our cellar to bring to this dinner. Very random moment there! The palate is dry with subtle stewed fruit. Quiet and meaty at the same time. Tannic but with a little plum, blackberry, and light herbal notes.

    January 27, 2019 - 100% Nebbiolo
from southeast and southwest facing Monfalletto Estate vineyards at 250-300m
in La Morra with clayey and calcareous soils and 15 to 50 yrs old vines.
4–5 day maceration plus 10-12 day fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
Malolactic in barrels of various sizes and wood.
Aged in French and Slovenian wood 18-24 months.
    13.5% Abv. ~44,000 bottles
Proprietors: Giovanni Cordero di Montezemolo and his children Elena and Alberto

A(ccuracy)=2: Med ruby/garnet. High tone woodsy perfume.
B(alance)=2: Compact fruit, solid acid and tannic structure.
C(omplexity)=2: Dark berries, earth, smoke, licorice, leather.
D(epth)=2: Firm mouthfeel. Expressive length and bit astrigent finish.

    Wine Tally Score [2,2,2,2] = 8/10

Needs ample breathing. Expecting further resolution and integration.
