November 5, 2023 - Silky smooth and tasting great. Not as complex as I was hoping but a real pleasure tom drink.

May 29, 2023 - Beautiful wine, still singing. Plush, dark fruit, resolved tannins, smooth mouthfeel, wonderful aromatics and lomg finish. Great example of Barossa's best.

November 25, 2022 - This pours medium ruby in the glass, not much in the way of bricking considering the nearly 20 years of age. The nose is moderately intense and complex showing old cedar, mulch, tobacco, faint eucalyptus, dried cherry, dried dark currant and a touch of wild blueberry jam. The palate is rich, round and creamy showing low tannin and medium acid. There is definitely a touch of the 14.5% alcohol showing on the finish here. All in all this was really nice and challenged my preconceived notion of what this bottle might be. No overly jammy or stewed notes at all.

March 22, 2022 - Typical Barossa Shiraz, feels like it is starting to drop off a bit. Just a tinge of green notes at the end of the finish. Very nice wine.

July 17, 2020 - Black ink color with a thin rim of blood orange at the rim. Out of the glass, at first pouring, wafts blue-black fruit and the smell of the sun baked, brick red soil from which the grapes grew, bringing back memories of the Barossa Valley, from our trip to that region Northeast of Adelaide in 1997.
The mouthfeel is thick and viscous, with densely packed fruit flavors and a beautiful plummy essence intermingled with the luscious blackberry jam on the palate along with the earthy essence of the area including additional grape skin notes on the extended finish, all supported by a gentle acidity and elegant tannins.
This expense ($85.00 in an obscure Portland Maine wine shop) was well worth the opportunity of reliving the trip back to Australia after all these years. My adventurous wife had trout with eucalyptus butter one evening on our trip, but grilled lamb will be the meal tonight.
Bottles like this are a rare privilege for us and we look forward to the wine’s evolution over the evening.
The wine is thick, luscious and decadently voluptuous.
    Yum!

It's Friday and things look NEW., Episode #236, 5/11/2007 (link) 90 points

(ELDERTON COMMAND SHIRAZ) #3; VaynerPAZZZ (based on QPR); COLOR-dark; NOSE-explosion of fresh milk, dairy, whipped cream, heavy Oak; TASTE-nice evergreen flavor w/ heavy dose of oak, enormous amount of cream, really viscous, explosive, good cherry pie flavor, but very New World & one-dimensional, little fakeness to it, but delicious, some complexity on the mid-palate, long finish, similar wines available for much less (Mollydooker, Marquis Phillips); RP-94; GV-90
