February 20, 2020 - Just as good as it was back in the summer. If anything, the tannin-acid balance was better. For whatever reason, I did NOT decant this bottle, and the spiciness of the Syrah half came out a little stronger. Bottom line: there are lots of ways to drink this.

September 16, 2019 - Excellent choice with chili con carne. I decanted it for a couple of hours, so some of the alcohol had drifted away. Beautiful red-purple color. The red fruit is a very nice balance with the spiciness of the chili. Not that anyone should really need the reminder, but this is why decanting and proper laying down is so important for most reds. For those who still have this in their cellars, it is probably good for at least another three years.

November 4, 2018 - Great with a burger. Aged really nicely for a 2014 bottles that was $20

December 1, 2017 - A little rough with an artificial sugar note running through it. Hot with exposed alcohol and a bizarre dirty/dusty note. Decent extraction of dark fruit but adversely impacted by the harshness.
